Experience the Magic of 1 Day at Busselton Jetty

A Perfect Family Escape

Looking to visit Busselton Jetty and wondering what else there is to see and do? Well, there’s so much, you could spend your whole day in one amazing family-friendly location—the Busselton Foreshore. From accommodation to restaurants, playgrounds, crystal-clear waters, and the Southern Hemisphere’s longest timber-piled Jetty, including the Underwater Observatory, Jetty Train, Underwater Sculpture Park, and Marine Discovery Centre, Busselton Foreshore is a little-known slice of paradise waiting to be explored!

Start Your Day with a View and a Feast

Begin your adventure by waking up at the brand-new Hilton Garden Inn, where the views are simply breathtaking. If you can tear yourself away from the balcony, you’ll find a variety of breakfast options to kickstart your day. Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the Together & Co restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, or stroll over to one of three fantastic restaurants on the Foreshore. For a quick bite and coffee, Shelter Brewing Co. is the place to be. If a hearty breakfast is more your style, you’re spoilt for choice at Kyst Restaurant or The Goose.

Dive into a Sea of Discovery at Busselton Jetty

With a restful night behind you and a satisfied belly, it’s time to dive into a sea of discovery at the Busselton Jetty. Start at the Busselton Jetty Interpretive Centre, (the first blue buildings at the start of the Jetty) where a world of exploration awaits. Whether you’re in the mood for some retail therapy, ready to go for a leisurely stroll, a nostalgic train ride, or an underwater adventure, there’s something for everyone.

The Interpretive Centre is where you check in for your train ride or observatory tours. Its also a wealth of knowledge as our friendly staff can talk you through all your options for your day in our Sea of Discovery! If you haven’t already booked online HERE, you could also book with our staff on the spot. But please be mindful, our Tours, Trains and Marine Discovery Centre Experiences often book out days in advance over Spring and Summer. So if you’d like to guarantee your adventure for the day, please book in advance.

Walk the Jetty

Take a stroll along the storied planks of the Jetty, and you’ll soon discover the rich history that has shaped this iconic structure. As you walk the 1.841 km stretch, you’ll learn about the tales of yesteryear and gain an understanding of why the Busselton community holds this incredible structure so dear.

Jetty Train

For those who prefer to take it easy, hop aboard the Jetty Train. This charming ride allows you to experience the full length of the Jetty without breaking a sweat. As the train chugs along, listen to the audio commentary and immerse yourself in the history of the Jetty, all while enjoying the stunning ocean views.

Underwater Observatory

One of only six natural observatories in the world, the Busselton Underwater Observatory offers a unique experience like no other. Descend 8 metres below the ocean’s surface without getting wet, and marvel at the vibrant marine life that thrives around the Jetty pylons. The colours, the movement, and the sheer beauty of the underwater world will leave you in awe.

Marine Discovery Centre

Located onshore, the Marine Discovery Centre (MDC) is a brand-new experience that allows you to immerse yourself in our incredible offshore marine parks from the comfort of dry land. An experience never seen before, you can meet a life-sized whale, discover microscopic marine life through a microscope, or imagine walking through a seagrass habitat. It’s all this and so much more. A 30-minute self-guided experience will leave you in love with our oceans.

Underwater Sculpture Park

Feel the need to get wet? Why not dive in 1.7 km out to sea and meet the 13 sculptures that call the Underwater Sculpture Park home? Designed and crafted by amazing West Australian artists, the sculptures now lie 8 metres below the ocean’s surface. Meet a bronze mermaid named Alara, a stingray, a crab, the only shark you’ll ever want to see that far out, and even a clay postmaster. Not to mention the seven others! It’s an experience that will be sure to leave a smile on your face.

The Perfect End to a Perfect Day

As the day draws to a close, the Busselton Foreshore continues to charm with its serene beauty and endless opportunities for relaxation. Picture this: a golden sun dipping below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the crystal-clear waters. The breathtaking sunsets here are nothing short of magical, painting the sky in hues of orange, pink, and purple—a sight that will leave you in awe.

But the day’s not over yet! For the little ones, there are amazing playgrounds waiting to be explored. Let their imaginations run wild as they swing, climb, and slide, all while you soak in the peaceful evening atmosphere.

When it’s time for dinner, you’re truly spoilt for choice. Whether you’re craving fresh seafood, gourmet pizza, or a hearty steak, the Busselton Foreshore has a dining option to satisfy every palate. Enjoy a relaxed meal at one of the beachside restaurants, where you can savour delicious dishes while gazing out at the ocean. The combination of good food, great company, and stunning views makes for an unforgettable dining experience.

So, pack your bags, bring the family, and get ready to create lifelong memories in this enchanting corner of Western Australia. The Busselton Foreshore is more than just a destination—it’s an experience waiting to be had, filled with wonder, adventure, and the simple pleasures of life by the sea.
