We offer flexible excursion packages designed to suit different curriculum areas, year groups, and budgets. School and education groups receive a 10% discount on our standard booking rates, as well as one free teacher per class*.

Excursion Options
Underwater Observatory Tour
- 1hr & 45min, including round-trip train ride
- Up to 44 people per tour
Descend 8 metres beneath the water’s surface and into one of the world’s six underwater observatories.
Our experienced guides will lead a brief tour through the Observatory, showcasing the natural wonders of Australia’s greatest artificial reef. See marine zonation in action, learn about marine adaptations, and view the vivid world of corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates – all without getting wet. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace.
Jetty Train Ride
- 45min round-trip
- 46 – 60 people per tour, dependent on season
Take a relaxing 3.6 kilometre round-trip train journey across the beautiful waters of Geographe Bay.
Spot wildlife and listen to our Train audio commentary outlining the Jetty’s colourful history. Spend a few minutes at the end of the Jetty exploring the life size whale murals and direction dial before your return trip back to shore.
Marine Discovery Centre
- Up to 45 minutes
- 30 people per session

Tailored for curious minds and budding oceanographers, our hands-on digital exhibits offer students an immersive journey into Australia’s offshore marine parks. From steering a submarine into the depths of Perth Canyon to observing the mesmerising behaviours of marine creatures, the Marine Discovery Centre inspires environmental stewardship and ignites a passion for marine conservation.
History & Heritage Walk
- 1.8km both ways – allow at least 1 hour
- Under 18 free of charge, adults $5. Or, apply for our annual resident walk pass!
Walk along the 1.841km long, heritage-listed Busselton Jetty, first built in 1865.
Students can complete the self-guided Bollard Trail Quiz (printable download below), with the Jetty’s maritime history and heritage questions and answers being found on interpretive panels along the walk.
Explore the life sized-whale murals, spot wildlife, and enjoy the 360-degree views of Geographe Bay along the way.
Self-Guided Snorkel
- A signed snorkel waiver is required for water entry from the Jetty

Dive in to explore the thriving ecosystem of over 300 marine species at Australia’s greatest artificial reef, and view 13 stunning sculptures handcrafted by Western Australian Artists.
Snorkel and dive waivers are required. Please contact us for further information.

Bring the ocean to your classroom! Our interactive live virtual excursions include a guided tour of the Underwater Observatory as well as a q&a period with our experienced guides. Our guides will showcase the biodiversity of a reef ecosystem, and view real-time conditions and wildlife seen from the Observatory.
Our curriculum-linked resource guide provides activity ideas for pre- and post-excursion learning for a variety of grade levels.
Incursions and Bespoke Requests
Busselton Jetty staff can deliver short presentations on themes of marine biology & ecology, sustainability, Jetty history, and tourism. Presentations requests are assessed on a case by case basis, and subject to staffing availability. Available to schools within the City of Busselton LGA.

Student Work Placement
Busselton Jetty Inc. can work with your high school or university to take learning beyond the classroom. We offer flexible timetables to support work placements within our existing operations.
